ATL Flood!

I ran down to my basement at eleven o’clock on Sunday night to find one inch of water covering my entire basement. It had been raining here in Atlanta extremely hard all day. Needless to say, the next 30 hours were spent in my basement pumping a constant stream of water out of the house!

This is the scene in Downtown Atlanta!

I must say, I consider myself extremely lucky due to many of the terrible stories I’ve heard and seen on the news. My heart goes out to all of those who lost their home, and to the families who lost their loved ones.

As in all of life’s challenges, we find ways to overcome them and move on stronger than ever. What a better time then NOW to take action and start living the life you want. That’s why TODAY, September 23rd is a very important date.

It marks the 100 day countdown of 2009!

I have been Challenged!

So yesterday I was just sitting at home, minding my own business, getting some work done, when I get this email from a “good friend” of mine, Ardie Baxter. As you remember about 2 weeks ago I began my goal of becoming a millionaire by the age of 21. Well, Ardie decided that at the age of 43, he wants to beat me there!

I sat there reading through this email he sent out and I read all this trash talk calling me a “young whipper snapper” and telling everybody I’m going to “cry to my mommy” when I lose. As I read this I decided you know what, I’m going to take the high road. I was going to call him and give him a piece of my mind, then I thought waking him from his nap was probably a bad idea. I completely understand that Ardie is over the hill and may need to use insults as a crutch, or should I say cane, or walker? But come on, you gotta pity the old guy…

Ardie ended his email with “Well Adam are you up to it?”.

My reply was of course YES!

This is the start of The Millionaire Showdown!
The Millionaire Showdown is simple. Myself and Ardie Baxter will compete over the next year to see who can become a millionaire first! We both want to get the most followers, the most views, we both want to give you the first best information we possibly can!

One step up

As I placed my first foot down on to the jagged, sharp pieces of glass I realized I didn’t choose my first step wisely. I rushed into it with out looking where I was stepping. I picked my foot back up and re-placed it down on to the glass this time making sure I was stepping on “friendlies”. It didn’t hurt at all. I then brought my second foot on to the glass and again, learning from my first step, watched for “friendlies” and carefully set my foot down. Following the same form and thought process I proceeded to walk across the glass without injury.

This was the first day my second seminar I attended with Marshall Sylver, Total Prosperity. Total Prosperity is A 2-day educational experience teaching entrepreneurs and small business owners how to run their businesses smarter – not harder, in addition to teaching them how to create a productive and balanced lifestyle.

Adam Kappel — Walking on Glass!!!

I related my walking on glass experience to my life. Shortly after graduating high school in 2007 I attended a trade school for audio recording in Arizona. After finishing the eight month program I decided to purchase a recording studio and start my own business. Shortly after opening the studio I started to tell myself that I was in way over my head. It just was not working out. I was unsure how to run a business successfully. About a year and a half after opening the studio, I was forced to close down. This is my first step on the glass. I put my foot down and it hurt, I took a step back and analyzed the situation.

After realizing that starting a recording studio wasn’t for me, I shifted my attention to a passion I have had for quite a while, real estate investing. My family had been in real estate for about 5 years at this point and I always enjoyed helping them out. After speaking with them and deciding I wanted to further my education in real estate, I took on a larger role in the business. This was my step back on to the glass. I figured out what was best for me and took the step back on.

I’m now on my second step on to the glass. Both feet are in and I am committed. I know what I need to do and how to do it, and most importantly, it doesn’t hurt.

No matter what you are going to do, look at the end result and figure out how you’re going to get there. After analyzing the situation, take that first step. If it hurts, figure out what you’re doing wrong and don’t be afraid to take it again. Life is full of jagged pieces of glass, find your “friendlies”.
