ATL Flood!

I ran down to my basement at eleven o’clock on Sunday night to find one inch of water covering my entire basement. It had been raining here in Atlanta extremely hard all day. Needless to say, the next 30 hours were spent in my basement pumping a constant stream of water out of the house!

This is the scene in Downtown Atlanta!

I must say, I consider myself extremely lucky due to many of the terrible stories I’ve heard and seen on the news. My heart goes out to all of those who lost their home, and to the families who lost their loved ones.

As in all of life’s challenges, we find ways to overcome them and move on stronger than ever. What a better time then NOW to take action and start living the life you want. That’s why TODAY, September 23rd is a very important date.

It marks the 100 day countdown of 2009!

Just like the past couple days in Atlanta, it’s been a fast, challenging and for some painful year! With that in mind, I wanted to share with you an exciting opportunity to finish the year strong-it’s called the 100 Day Challenge!

My most successful week yet!

This week has been, by far, my most successful week since beginning the Millionaire Showdown.

On Monday I was given the great opportunity to speak at the Chattanooga-Southeast Tennessee REIA and on Tuesday I got the chance to speak at The Knoxville, TN REIA. They were both awesome and I was able to meet some great people and share a ton of information on internet marketing.

Today I went to The Atlanta Realtor Showcase 2009. It’s a HUGE event where realtors from all over the state can come network and educate themselves on new opportunities. I got to network with hundreds of reatlors and other real estate professionals and it couldn’t have gone better.

The Power Of Networking

I can talk all day and all night about Internet Marketing. I can talk about Twitter, Facebook, and Squeeze Pages. You see, I grew up in the age of computers. Being born in 1989 (how does that make you feel Ardie?) I was almost always near a computer. Even in kindergarten I was taking typing classes! Naturally, using the internet marketing strategies is what is easiest for me. The question is, is it the best way?

One thing I have noticed about my generation is how anti-social we’ve become. Maybe this is because of computers and the lack of social interaction. For the longest time, the idea of speaking to people in person, or even on the phone, frightened me to death. I didn’t know how to initiate the conversation (this was just with real estate investors, imagine me with girls…).

While attending the Turning Point seminar, I realized that there was no point in being afraid of speaking to people. What exactly was I afraid of anyway? I learned people will not judge me, and even if they do, why let that hurt me? One key thing I learned was to always been interested, not interesting.

As I started to just speak to people and not be afraid I realized how easy it is. Some use the excuse, “Well, I don’t know what to say”. Have you ever tried a simple, “Hey, my name is [insert name here]”?

The Power of Networking, no matter how strong internet or postcards may be, is the feeling of talking to somebody and shaking hands and giving them a simple one on one to who you are, what you do, and how you can bring value to them.

Great story: Not too long ago I attended a meeting in which I had been to multiple times. Each time I was there, I noticed some of the same people would come up and speak to me. At the last meeting I spoke to my one man who I had spoken to numerous times and developed a great relationship with. He never really spoke of any interest in working with us, however we always spoke to him because he seemed to be a nice, great guy. I had probably spoken with this man about 12 times, and this time it turned out he wanted to do some business. He then disclosed to us that he had a large sum of money he wanted to privately invest in our business.

The point of my story is to speak to everybody. Don’t be afraid to go up to that quiet guy sitting in the corner, because he could be the one person that could change the scope of your business forever! This has happened to us multiple times. Just keeping in contact with the right people pays off. Don’t lose touch with people, remember key details. The ones who pay attention will be the key to your success.

This week I challenge you. This week, find 5 people to speak to. I don’t care who they are, or what they do, just speak to them. One rule: You must have never spoken to them before.

Give it a try, you might find that one of those 5 people were the key your business was missing to making a ton of money!

I have been Challenged!

So yesterday I was just sitting at home, minding my own business, getting some work done, when I get this email from a “good friend” of mine, Ardie Baxter. As you remember about 2 weeks ago I began my goal of becoming a millionaire by the age of 21. Well, Ardie decided that at the age of 43, he wants to beat me there!

I sat there reading through this email he sent out and I read all this trash talk calling me a “young whipper snapper” and telling everybody I’m going to “cry to my mommy” when I lose. As I read this I decided you know what, I’m going to take the high road. I was going to call him and give him a piece of my mind, then I thought waking him from his nap was probably a bad idea. I completely understand that Ardie is over the hill and may need to use insults as a crutch, or should I say cane, or walker? But come on, you gotta pity the old guy…

Ardie ended his email with “Well Adam are you up to it?”.

My reply was of course YES!

This is the start of The Millionaire Showdown!
The Millionaire Showdown is simple. Myself and Ardie Baxter will compete over the next year to see who can become a millionaire first! We both want to get the most followers, the most views, we both want to give you the first best information we possibly can!

I want you all to watch as I become a millionaire and as Ardie falls flat on his face! Most of all, I want to bring all of you with me. I want to watch each and every one of you become a millionaire over the next year as well.
